The end of the month

Somehow the first month of 2009 is ending and I have no idea where the time went. Wanted to share some new music with you today, and mention that in the month of February, we have LOTS of exciting things that are going to be happening to celebrate our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!

There will be contests - so all you producers / remixers be ready to work your magic. There will be new music videos. There is an exclusive Dancefloor Mayhem interview we did with Freq Nasty that will be posted in the next few days. And I don't even need to mention all the great music I've still got to post!

Remember, if you are a DJ / producer / remixer / label - we are always looking for new music. House / Tech House / Techno / Breakbeats / Electro / Electro House / Dubstep / Drum-n-Bass and more!!! We love it all and love to share great music with our readers. You can send mixes, tracks, promo material, links, love letters and gay porn to: dancefloormayhem @ gmail.com

Also, if you are in Portland, we are going to be promoting a new Wednesday night weekly at Pala beginning in March called Underground Rising. We are very excited about this opportunity and hope to see you on Wednesday nights @ Pala!!! We will be updating you with flyers / line-ups and additional info on the night as we finalize all the details. It will be a NO COVER night, with drink specials and food specials all night long!

And speaking of Pala, we are throwing a big party there this coming Friday, February 6th to celebrate our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Tronic will be DJ-ing with Flipsta and Jaden at Pala - Pala is located at 105 NW 3rd Avenue in downtown Portland. 9pm - late, NO COVER if you are in before 10pm. $5 after 10pm. 21+. House / Tech House / Breaks / Electro House beats all night!

Other upcoming events in Portland this week include the start of Group Therapy Thursdays @ Crush on Thursday, February 5th. The opening night will feature 5 DJs, and I will be there to support and to drop a set of nu disco and disco house.

On Saturday, February 7th, Tronic will be DJ-ing at the Mt Tabor Legacy as part of a unique event featuring one stage of live music and one stage of DJs. Other performers include SOLOVOX, DJ B-Lit, DJ Matt E Starr and SubAtomic. $10 pre-sale tickets are now available at Platinum Records. $15 at the door. The venue is located at 4811 SE Hawthorne in Portland.

And...don't forget about the Dancefloor Mayhem sessions every Sunday night on Techno.FM The show airs 6pm - 8pm PST / 9pm - 11pm EST every Sunday night featuring guest DJ mixes. This Sunday, February 1st, we've got new mixes from James Talk and Donald Glaude, so don't miss the show!

For our musical enjoyment in this post, we've got some new stuff from people we have featured before, including an original electro track from the Disco Wizards and another big club remix of a house classic from Ranny. We've also got a great breakbeat track from the Lightshapers. 5 new songs in all for you to download and groove to!

{Ranny}

This first one is a HUGE house anthem that has seen a lot of remakes and remixes over the years. D.O.N.S. has previously re-worked the Technotronic classic 'Pump Up the Jam' and now they have done a great job with remaking this hit. Ranny gives us a remix that is great for the clubs and one-offs. If you are looking for a big vocal house cut, look no further! DJs - this one is 320kbps, so grab it, play it, and stop by Ranny's MySpace page and show him some love!

{Detroit Grand Pubahs}

Everybody loves the classic electro track 'Sandwiches' by Detroit Grand Pubahs. We got a remix from Dave Wrangler that we really like, so we had to share it with you. It's also 320kbps so download, play it, love it! Let's get on the Dancefloor and make Sandwiches!

We have previously featured the Howard Who remix of 'Proxy' by The State of Floral Beings. This is another great remix where Howard Who takes on J-Son - a hip-hop artist from Sweden, and turns it into an uptempo club track with lots of energy.

We previously featured the Disco Wizards original track 'Diskotek' and now they are back with 'Fuck Up & Do Well'. Another track they were kind enough to give us to share that is 320kbps. This is a definite peak hour track. Pure hands-in-the-air electro action.

We love breaks and can never seem to get enough quality breaks to share with you. Well, this gem was sent to us and we love it! The Lightshapers are a production duo from the UK with releases on labels such as Waveshape, Polar Red and Ape Music. They also have a regular show on BreaksFM. This track is really funky, with lots of variety and good energy. If you are a breakbeat fan, you should love this song.

Are you kidding me, You're from Portland?! I'm an electronic music producer from Portland, and the Dance scene is so small around Portland it's hard to find other people like you. Love the blog! I've got a blog too if you want to link swap. Hopefully I'll be at the Pala real soon to check out the DanceFloor Mayhem
Peace
